Approximately 175 teens and young adults (ages 16- 21) are admitted to Rikers Island every week.  Close to half of them will be back in jail less than one year after release. Every dollar lets us provide core services that help them rebuild their lives after leaving Rikers.


Dequan$25 connects each young person we meet in custody with a Youth Advocate.

D@51$150 funds an academic tutor to meet with ReStart Academy high school students for one semester.

Cap and Gown

$750 funds two east coast college trips for 10 college-bound students.

eugene_2_takehome$1,500 funds three open mic nights—one on Rikers Island, two in our Harlem community center—which offer youth a platform for artistic expression.

$2,500 prepares 5 Youth Members for work and places them in paid internships and secures them jobs.

FOIA 25th Anniversary - (48 of 77)$5,000 pays for a three-month Youth Leadership certification training program and public service activities for up to 10 Youth Leaders.

HOPE image$20,000 invested in the life of a teenager or young adult on Rikers Island can keep them out of jail for life
